Simefree formed in 2005 around brothers Ntokozo and Thulasizwe Mthembu from Soweto. Their debut single "Ngholovhani" came out in 2010 and got some attention. They've put out a few albums since then, including "Fife iNdoda" in 2014 and "Eva" in 2021.
The band includes Ntokozo Mthembu on vocals and guitar, Thulasizwe Mthembu on drums, Sipho Gumede on bass, and Khaya Mthethwa on keyboards and vocals. They've played at festivals like Glastonbury and Coachella. Some of their songs touch on social issues in South Africa.
