Similares formed in Buenos Aires around 2010, with singer-guitarist Emi Rodriguez, bassist Ezequiel Villanueva, and drummer Leandro Lacerna. They spent their early years playing local shows and working out their sound, which pulls from alternative rock, folk, and some electronic touches.

In 2015, they released "Agnes," a ballad loosely inspired by Anne Brontë's novel Agnes Grey. The song's quiet melody and Rodriguez's vocals connected with listeners, becoming their most recognized track. They've also put out songs like "Anormal" and "Caramujo."

Around 2017, the band dealt with some plagiarism claims over another song, though those were eventually dismissed. They've kept a fairly low profile since, letting the music speak for itself.
