Simply Blue formed in Brazil in 1999 with three members: Chiquinho on vocals and guitar, Márcio on drums, and Ivan on bass. They released their debut album "Canto de Pássaro" in 2004, which included the song "De Olhos Fechados."
They've released four more albums since then: "Pra Sempre" in 2006, "Ouro em Pó" in 2011, "Nossas Canções" in 2014, and "Ensaio" in 2018.
In 2010, they faced plagiarism allegations over their song "Paraíso Proibido," which they denied and were eventually dismissed. The band's music draws from pop, rock, and Brazilian MPB, built around Chiquinho's vocals, Márcio's drumming, and Ivan's bass work.
