Simpson Ahuevo

Simpson Ahuevo formed in Mexico City in the early 2000s around Ricardo O'Farrill, Miguel Trujillo, and César Pliego. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 2005, and its lead single 'Arre' caught on quickly, giving the band a national profile. They built a sound that mixed traditional Mexican music with contemporary production and a satirical edge.

Over the next decade and a half, they put out several more albums, including La Revuelta in 2007, La Pelicula in 2010, and De Vuelta al Mundo in 2014. Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism for poking at political figures and social norms, and in 2010 they faced a legal dispute with a former member over song rights, which they eventually won.

Later records like Viva México in 2018 and Arre con lo que Traigo in 2022 continued their run. Another track, 'Duele,' also became one of their better-known songs. They kept working with the same basic lineup and approach, never really softening their humorous, sometimes provocative style.
