Sinhu formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1991 with Maurilio Santos on vocals, Luciano Lacerda on guitar, Fernando Lopes on bass, and Michel Alves on drums. Their debut album 'Sempre Seu' came out in 1993 and included the song 'Você Não Sai da Minha Mente,' which got regular radio play.
Maurilio Santos left in 1995 to work on his own music, and the band brought in Lucio Souza as the new singer. They kept recording after that change.
