Sirlene Poncio began singing in rural Goiás, where she grew up hearing hymns and Pentecostal worship music. Her debut album 'Bendito é o Senhor' came out in 2000, followed by 'O Deus que Cura' in 2002 and 'És o Meu Caminho' in 2005.
Her music often deals with faith and hope, mixing traditional gospel with contemporary pop sounds. One of her best-known songs is 'Imensidão,' which became something of an anthem in Brazilian gospel circles. She also recorded 'O Impossível' and 'Sai Tristeza.'
In 2007, there were plagiarism accusations around 'És o Meu Caminho,' though the case was eventually dropped. Later, in 2015, she made comments about dance moves in gospel performances that stirred some debate within Christian communities.
She kept recording after that, putting out 'Deus é Fiel' in 2018 and 'Amor sem Limites' in 2021.
