Sirleypraise

Sirleypraise formed in São Paulo in 1997 around singer Shirley Carvalhaes. They released their first album 'Mais Que Vencedor' the following year, which gave them an early foothold in Brazilian Christian music.

Their music found an audience despite some initial resistance from both secular and religious circles. They kept recording through the early 2000s with albums like 'Marcas do Amor' and 'Noite Especial,' building a catalog of straightforward worship songs.

Shirley Carvalhaes' voice remained at the center of their sound through lineup changes and different production approaches. The band's name became familiar in certain church communities, particularly for songs like 'Mais Que Vencedor' that worked well in congregational settings.
