Sixteen formed in Siedlce, Poland in 2002, with Aleksandra Sobolak on vocals. They're a pop-rock band that found their footing after some early financial struggles. Their 2007 single "To Takie Proste" broke through on Polish charts, giving them a national audience.
They released their first album, "Monophobia," in 2009, followed by others like "Tu Jest Mój Dom" in 2011 and "Niebo" in 2018. The lineup includes Sobolak, guitarists Mariusz Sobczak and Piotr Sobczak, bassist Rafał Grabowski, and drummer Łukasz Jemioła.
In 2012, there were plagiarism accusations about their song "Z Całych Sił," which the band denied. A few years later, Sobolak dealt with a vocal issue that led to some canceled shows before she returned to performing.
