Sixto Sounds formed in 2010 with vocalists Sixto Rodriguez and Patricia Quintero, bassist Frank Valenzuela, and guitarist Daniel Mendez. Their debut album 'The Passing of the Blue Crown' came out in 2014, with the title track getting attention for its lyrics about fame.
In 2017, Patricia Quintero left the band after filing a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and discrimination. The group released a second album called 'Echoes of a Distant Past' in 2020.
