Skindive formed in Los Angeles in 1999, around the time nu-metal was gaining momentum. Their debut single "In For The Kill" helped them find an audience, and they released their first album in 2001. The band's lineup included vocalist Anthony "Tone" Campos, guitarist Jack "Razor" Harris, bassist Ryan "Rhino" Kennedy, and drummer Chris "Animal" Morales.
Their live shows developed a reputation for intensity, sometimes leading to confrontations. Campos's lyrics often dealt with anger and alienation, which connected with some listeners but drew criticism from others.
Skindive put out two more albums, 2003's "Into the Abyss" and 2005's "NÜ Theory," before disbanding in 2006. Songs like "No More Good Guys" and "Salt Peter" show their mix of aggression and melody. After the band ended, Campos continued making music on his own.
