Archive material and source history
Skinlab formed in Los Angeles in 1994 with Steev Esquivel on vocals, Mike Taylor and Gavin Taylor on guitars, Paul Hopkins on bass, and Phil Lockett on drums. They put out their first album, 'Bound, Gagged, and Blindfolded,' in 1997. The track 'Anthem For A Fallen Star' from that record got some attention.
They kept releasing albums through the early 2000s, including 'Disembody' in 1999 and 'Revolting Room' in 2002. Other songs like 'Breathe' and 'Coward' are part of their catalog. They also did a cover of the Smashing Pumpkins' 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings.'
Their lineup saw some changes over time, with guitarists like Lorenzo Armenta and Nate Hogg, and drummers like Alessio D'Amico and Charlie Bellmore, playing with the band at different points. They put out another album called 'The Scars Remain' in 2018.
