Skinny formed in Porto, Portugal, around the early 2000s, starting as a duo with João Serra and Luís Pena before adding a drummer and bassist. Their debut EP "The Shape of Things" came out in 2007, and the song "Santa Maria" from it got some attention locally.
In 2009, they released the EP "Casa Dos Bom," which included the title track that became their best-known song. They also put out albums like "One" in 2011, "Two" in 2013, and "The Whale" in 2017, with Serra and Pena handling vocals and guitar.
They played at festivals like Primavera Sound and SXSW, building a following outside Portugal. Other songs like "Imagina" and "Três Palavras" show their mix of indie rock with some electronic touches and straightforward lyrics.
