Background notes

Archive material and source history

Smacker was a Brazilian rock band that formed in the early 2000s around vocalist and guitarist Fabrício "Fabão" Nobre, bassist Pedro "Pedrão" Garcia, and drummer Leandro "Leandrinho" Gomes. Guitarist Wallace "Wally" Matias joined them in 2006. They put out albums like "Smacker" in 2002, "Do Começo ao Fim" in 2004, "Destino" in 2007, and "Reggae Rock Brasil" in 2011.

Their song "Nosso Tempo" became a hit for them. It had a rock and pop feel with some reggae mixed in, and it seemed to catch on with a certain crowd at the time. The band was known for putting on energetic shows.

In 2009, they took a break after a performance at a festival led to some talk about drug use. They kept playing after that, but "Nosso Tempo" is still the track people remember.
