Small Forward started in Portland in 2014, when Alex Ivanoff, who had played basketball before, began making music with bassist Mike Cohen and drummer Danny Prado. Their first EP came out the next year, named after the song 'The Reservoir.' That track got picked up for an episode of 'Grey's Anatomy,' which helped more people hear it.
In 2017, the band took a break after Ivanoff faced accusations of inappropriate behavior. They came back together in 2019 and put out a second album called 'Aerial.' Some of their other songs include 'Imagine So' and 'Delicate Days.'
