Snakebite came together in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. The band included Marcus "Viper" Reed on vocals and guitar, Jake "Rattlesnake" Jackson on bass, and Emily "Scorpion" Stevens on drums. They put out their first album, 'Venomous Heart,' in 1985.
That album had 'Two Desperate Hearts,' which became their best-known song. It got some attention from conservative groups who didn't like the lyrics or the live shows. The band kept recording through the late 80s and into the 90s, with albums like 'Shed My Skin' and 'Bad Medicine.'
