Sneaker Pimps formed in Luton, England in 1995 around the collaboration of Liam Howe on production and Chris Corner handling songwriting and vocals. Their debut album 'Becoming X' came out the following year, featuring Kelli Dayton's vocals on tracks like '6 Underground' and 'Spin Spin Sugar.' That first record found an audience with its mix of alternative rock and electronic textures.
After Dayton left in 1998, Corner and Howe continued as the core of the group. They released 'Splinter' in 1999, followed by albums like 'Bloodsport' in 2002. Their later work incorporated different elements while keeping an electronic foundation. The band went on hiatus after 2006's 'Fit but You Know It,' with Corner forming IAMX and Howe working as a producer.
