Solar Fields

Solar Fields is the electronic project of Swedish musician Magnus Birgersson, who started working under that name in the mid-1990s. He builds tracks from ambient textures, melodic techno patterns, and expansive synth layers, creating a sound that feels more like a place than a conventional song.

In 2002, he released the album "Leaving Home," which became a touchstone for listeners drawn to that kind of atmospheric, journeying electronica. The record established a template of long-form compositions built on evolving pads and subtle rhythmic pulses.

Since then, Birgersson has continued to explore similar terrain across numerous albums, occasionally branching into film scoring. The music tends to avoid vocals and pop structures, favoring instead a patient, immersive quality that unfolds over time.
