Som A3

Som A3 formed in Brazil around 2001 with Guto Menezes on vocals and guitar, Evandro Mesquita on bass, and Adriano Cintra on drums. Their name translates to "Sound A3," a reference to the three-piece lineup. They released their self-titled debut album in 2002, which included the song "Sonho." That track became a hit in Brazil, helping establish the band's presence.

Over the next decade or so, they put out several more albums, including No Olho do Furacão in 2004, Aurora in 2007, Santo Inocente in 2010, O Amor É o Que Importa in 2012, and Onze in 2015. Their music often touched on themes like love and loss, working within pop and rock styles with some Brazilian rhythmic touches.

In 2004, the band dealt with a legal dispute involving a former manager, which created some distraction during that period. They kept recording and releasing music through it, though. The three members, Menezes, Mesquita, and Cintra, remained the core creative unit throughout their active years.
