Son Lux

Son Lux started as Ryan Lott's solo project in 2008 before becoming a trio with drummer Ian Chang and bassist Rafiq Bhatia. They've put out seven albums since 2011, including At War with Walls and Mazes, Lanterns, and 2022's Every Moment, Thought, and Feeling.

Their sound pulls from electronic, classical, and ambient music, with Lott's vocals and the group's detailed arrangements creating a particular kind of atmosphere. Songs like Lost It To Trying and Easy show how they build these layered, sometimes uneasy textures.

In 2015, Bhatia left the band. A few years later, Plans We Made drew some criticism for being too sentimental, but it also became one of their more widely heard tracks. They kept working, releasing the Tomorrows albums in 2020.
