Sonnet formed in London in the late 1970s as a quartet with Emily Carter, Jake Davis, Adam Hayes, and Michael Wright. They started playing local clubs and put out their debut album 'Whispers of Love' in 1982. That record included 'You're So Good For Me,' which became their best-known song.
In 1985, bassist Adam Hayes died in a car accident. The band continued with Mark Taylor on bass. They kept recording and released several more albums through the early 1990s.
Sonnet made eight studio albums in total. Their music stayed in circulation, and 'You're So Good For Me' kept turning up on playlists and compilations long after the band's active years wound down.
