Sonni formed in Rio de Janeiro around 2015, started by roommates Rodrigo Amarante and Lírio Cruz. They built their sound through live shows, eventually releasing their debut album 'Amanhã' in 2017. The title track from that album became one of their most recognizable songs.
The band includes Amarante and Cruz on vocals and guitar, along with Thiago Flora on bass and Gabriel Boyd on drums. They followed 'Amanhã' with albums called 'Jardim' in 2019 and 'Aurora' in 2022. Other songs like 'Como você Espera' and 'Em qualquer lugar' show their range across different recordings.
