Sou formed in Tokyo in 1998, starting as a duo with vocalist Maiko and bassist Akiko. They worked out of a small rehearsal space, developing what would become their sound. In 2004, their single 'Harehare Ya' gained significant attention in Japan, bringing them wider recognition.
Their albums include 'Atarashii Asa' from 2005, 'Kono Sekai wa' from 2009, and a self-titled release in 2014. Guitarist Mitsuru joined the group in 2005. Songs like 'Mr. Fixer' and 'Ayatori' are part of their catalog.
