Just a Girl

I, i won't lie, and say that i, i never cry

And i, i'll testify, i'm afraid at times, frayed sometimes

But my tears, my fears, ripped edges, few successes

Don't make less precious

And i won't let my somewhat frequent faults steal me from my higher call

That everyone who hears my voice will see

I'm nothing less than who i profess to be

An up and down process

One who knows he ain't done with me yet

A girl who wants to change the world just by being me

I, i don't try, to pretend that i, do everything right

But i, know the choice is mine, live lightless or shine, run or fall behind

But my good, my bad, my mistakes, angelic ways

Don't altar his taste for me

No, his love is unconditional, to tell the world's my highest call

So everyone who hears my voice will see
