Soumar was a Spanish-American band active in the 1980s, known for their hit "La Isla Bonita." The group included brothers Nacho Cano on vocals and guitar and José María Cano on keyboards, along with drummer Antonio García de Diego. They put out five albums between 1983 and 1989, starting with a self-titled debut and including "Tal para cual" and "Transparente."
"La Isla Bonita" became an international pop hit, with its melody and island-themed lyrics gaining wide recognition. The band disbanded in 1992 amid reports of personal conflicts and creative differences, particularly between the Cano brothers. After Soumar ended, both brothers went on to solo careers.
