Sound Bah formed in São Paulo in 1995 with Anderson "Buiu" Silva on drums, Roberto "Magrão" Silva on bass, and Edson "Edinho" Santana handling vocals and guitar. Their first album, "O Samba Tá na Moda," came out in 1997. They put out a few more records after that, including "Na Chave do Samba" in 1999 and "Quem Não Bate na Chave" in 2001.
Their music pulled from funk and samba, and some of their lyrics and performances drew criticism. The song "Quem Não Bate na Chave" became a kind of statement piece for them. They kept playing and recording into the mid-2000s, with "Funkeado e Sambado" arriving in 2004.
