King and John Lennon. Their debut album 'Nas Asas do Senhor' came out that same year and included 'Oh Pai Santo Tu Que Estás,' which became their most recognized song.
That blend of sacred and secular material sometimes drew criticism from religious authorities who saw it as sacrilege, while others appreciated the approach. The band kept going through that, with Viana on vocals and guitar and Nunes on bass and keyboards. They put out more albums like 'Voz da Liberdade' in 1988 and 'Luz do Mundo' in 1992.
Pedro Valverde played drums for them at times. Their music stayed rooted in those early influences, working within that space between church music and popular Brazilian sounds without fully belonging to either.
