SP308 formed in Porto in 2007 with Sergio Moreira on vocals and guitar, Pedro Serra on bass, and André Silva on drums. Their sound pulled from rock, folk, and electronica, which came together on songs like "Anjo" and "Boas Notícias."
In 2011, "Anjo" became a major hit in Portugal. The following year, the band was involved in a legal dispute over the rights to that song, which they eventually won. Their debut album, "O Mundo É Nosso," came out around that time and earned them a Portuguese Golden Globe for Best New Artist.
They followed it with albums like "Luz" and "Quem Sou Eu," and kept writing material that felt personal and direct, as you can hear in tracks such as "Imperfeito" and "Perdoai - Acústico."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
