Archive material and source history
Spender was an Australian indie-folk band formed in the early 2000s. Their lineup included Sarah Blasko on vocals, Nic Cester on guitar, Ashley Naylor on cello and bass, and Alex Gow on drums. They released their debut album 'Introducing Spender' in 2004, followed by 'Son of One Thousand Memories' in 2007 which featured the track 'Hotel Home'.
Their sound blended folk elements with indie rock textures, with Blasko's vocals and Cester's guitar work forming the core of their arrangements. The band took a hiatus around 2015 after releasing 'Crying on the Dance Floor', which included a collaboration with Gotye on the title track.
