SpeXial formed in 2012 after five singers, Evan, Zhiwei, Mingjie, Sam, and Teddy, came together on the Taiwanese talent show "To Be a Star." They won that competition, which gave them a start. Their debut EP was called "Love Killah," and the title track became their first hit.
They put out several albums over the next few years, including Dangerous, Breakout, and Boyz on Fire. In 2015, Sam left the group, which was a noticeable change for their fans. Other songs like "Really Really" and "Youshang Lai Xi (When Grief Strikes)" also became part of their catalog.
By 2017, they had released an album called 12 Stories. The band was based in Taipei and worked in the Mandopop scene.
