Sphere of Souls formed in 2010 around guitarist and vocalist Damien Blackwood, drummer Ethan Thorne, and bassist Marcus Raven. They put out their debut album 'From the Ashes...' the following year, which included the track of the same name that became something of an anthem for them.
Their sound pulls from classic heavy metal acts like Metallica and Iron Maiden, but they've built their own thing around that foundation. Over the next decade they released albums like 'Darkness Unbound' in 2014, 'Ascendancy' in 2017, and 'Echoes of the Ancients' in 2020.
