Spookey Ruben

Spookey Ruben formed in the late 1990s around singer-songwriter Dana Kaplan, with Rob Myers on bass, Mark Lyons on guitar, and Rich Pinder on drums. They released their self-titled debut album in 1999, which included the track 'Good Night, Sleep Tight' that became something of a calling card for the band's gentle, folk-tinged sound.

Their music often carried a quiet, nocturnal quality, with songs like 'Shauna' and 'When You Fall In Love With Someone Who's In Love With Someone Else' exploring intimate emotional spaces. They followed their debut with albums like 'Another Room' in 2002 and 'The Sea of Time' in 2005, maintaining a consistent approach to melody and atmosphere.

Later releases included 'Songs for Sleep and Relaxation' in 2009 and 'Nightsongs' in 2012, titles that reflected the band's ongoing interest in calm, reflective music. While some critics found their work predictable, they developed a dedicated following who appreciated their particular brand of soothing, emotionally resonant songcraft.
