Stabbing Westward

Stabbing Westward formed in Macomb, Illinois in 1992, playing a kind of industrial rock that leaned into heavy guitars and electronic textures. Their debut album 'Ungod' came out in 1994, and they followed it with 'Wither Blister Burn + Peel' in 1996 and 'Darkest Days' in 1998. The band's lineup included Christopher Hall on vocals, Mark Eliopulos on guitar, Stuart Zechman on bass, and David Suycott on drums.

Their songs often dealt with dark, personal themes like isolation and depression. Tracks like 'The Thing I Hate' and 'Save Yourself' had a raw, angsty quality that connected with listeners in the mid-to-late 90s. The music wasn't exactly cheerful, but it felt honest in its own way.

They put out a self-titled album in 2001 before going quiet for a while. The band's sound was part of that particular moment when industrial elements were filtering into mainstream alternative rock, and their records still turn up in used CD bins and streaming playlists today.
