Steake formed in the coastal city of Santos in 2006, with Rafael Pacheco on vocals, Pedro Tesch on guitar, Lucas Santos on drums, and Márcio Resende on bass. They started out playing local bars and festivals, building a following with their rock and alternative sound.
In 2010, producer Rick Bonadio heard them and helped shape their debut album 'Só Pra Ser.' The lead single from that record, 'Me Faz Melhor,' became a hit in Brazil and gave the band its first real break.
After that, they put out albums like 'Porta de Emergência' in 2013 and 'Sintonia' in 2015, which moved toward pop and electronic elements. Their 2019 release 'Isso É Steake' circled back to rock while trying some new things.
