Stepson

Stepson formed in London in the early 2000s around Tom Batt's vocals and lyrics, with Anders Trentemøller handling electronic production and Louise Burns contributing vocals. Their debut single "Blue" came out in 2004, followed by albums like Through the Walls in 2006 and Silver in 2009. Songs like "Bruised" and "Cold Water" carried that same atmospheric, melancholic quality.

Burns left the band in 2008 amid rumors of creative differences, though the group never detailed what happened. Stepson kept making music that blended electronic textures with introspective writing, avoiding the more conventional sounds that drew some early criticism. Their work appeared in some films and television shows, but they never became a mainstream act.
