Stereo Honey formed in 2010 around singer-songwriter Emily Klein, with Ethan James on bass and Mark Jenkins on drums. They built a following through local shows, developing a sound built around Klein's vocals and shimmering guitar work. Their 2012 debut album was titled 'Where No One Knows Your Name', which became one of their better-known songs.
Klein's songwriting often dealt with themes of mental health and isolation, which drew both strong connection from some listeners and criticism from others. The band went through some lineup changes, with Jenkins departing in 2016. They released two more albums, 'Lost in Translation' in 2015 and 'The Sound of Silence' in 2019, showing some evolution in their approach while keeping Klein's voice and writing at the center.
