From pub rock beginnings to 'Dakota,' they've been a steady presence in British music for decades.
For their sound, try 'Dakota' or 'Maybe Tomorrow.' The early single 'Local Boy in the Photograph' still holds up.
They started as a local Welsh band playing pubs and clubs, then signed with V2 Records and put out 'Word Gets Around' in 1997. Songs like 'Local Boy in the Photograph' and later 'Dakota' showed they could write rock hits that stuck around. Even after drummer Stuart Cable left in 2003, they kept recording albums like 'Language. Sex. Violence. Other?' and touring.
They formed in 1992 with Kelly Jones on vocals and guitar, Richard Jones on bass, and Stuart Cable on drums. Their debut 'Word Gets Around' did well in the UK, followed by albums like 'Performance and Cocktails' and 'Just Enough Education to Perform.' After Cable's dismissal, they continued through the 2000s with records like 'Pull the Pin.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
