Steve Wariner

Steve Wariner was born in Kentucky in 1954. He started playing guitar early and got his first real break in the mid-1970s when he joined Dottie West's band as a backing musician, which gave him some solid experience before going out on his own.

He launched his solo career in 1980 with a self-titled album. His breakthrough came a few years later with the 1987 single 'The Weekend.' Through the late '80s and early '90s, he put out albums like 'You Can Dream of Me' and 'Burnin' the Roadhouse Down.' Songs like 'Like a River To The Sea' and 'A Woman's Love' show his knack for smooth, melodic country with clean guitar work.
