After The Police disbanded in 1986, he started a solo career with the album "The Dream of the Blue Turtles." He has released albums steadily since, including "Ten Summoner's Tales" in 1993 and "Songs from the Labyrinth" in 2019. The music draws from jazz, reggae, and classical influences, but stays centered on his voice and bass playing.
