Stone Worship

Stone Worship formed in Florianópolis, Brazil in 2006 with vocalist Alef Rodrigues, guitarist Denis Seara, bassist Reuel Ferraz, and drummer Andre Ivo. They started playing Christian rock at a time when that combination still raised eyebrows in some circles, building their audience through local shows rather than immediate radio play.

Their song 'Sempre Foi Deus' became something of a standard in Brazilian worship music, one of those tracks that shows up in church services and personal playlists years after its release. Other songs like 'Vai ficar tudo bem' and 'Nada Me Separa' followed a similar pattern, straightforward declarations of faith set to guitar-driven arrangements that didn't try to hide their rock influences.

They put out their first album 'Além do Véu' in 2010, then kept recording through the following years with titles like 'Desperta' and 'Salmo 23'. The music stayed in that space between congregational worship and what you might hear on a mainstream rock station, which meant some listeners embraced it while others questioned whether the two styles should mix.
