Stonefeather formed in Sausalito, California in the early 1970s, led by Don Francisco's distinctive vocals. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1970 and included 'Drifters,' a song that caught on with listeners drawn to their blend of folk and rock.
They followed with albums like 'Arizona' in 1971 and 'Down Along the Cove' in 1973. The 1974 release 'Four Winds' took a more experimental turn, which didn't sit well with everyone. Around that time, guitarist Rick Anderson left the group.
Stonefeather kept recording through the decade, putting out 'Laredo' in 1975 and 'Renaissance' in 1977. Other songs from their catalog include 'California Air,' 'Kush Doctor,' 'Let Yourself Go,' and 'Mountains.'
