Archive material and source history

Stonefield is a psychedelic rock band from Apollo Bay, Australia, made up of the Howard sisters, Amy on drums, Sarah on guitar and vocals, and Holly on bass, along with Hannah Macklin on keyboards and vocals. Their father introduced them to classic rock and vintage keyboards when they were young, which shaped their sound. They put out their self-titled debut album in 2011, with the single "Yes Master" getting attention for its raw energy.

Their music draws from bands like Cream, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and AC/DC, mixing psychedelic exploration with driving rhythms. Later albums like "As Above, So Below" in 2013 and "Far Out" in 2015 showed their songwriting getting more complex. Songs such as "Bad Reality" and "Black Water Rising" reflect their blend of heavy riffs and atmospheric keyboards.

In 2018, Sarah Howard spoke about dealing with mental health issues, which led the band to take a break. They came back with the album "Burnt Orange" in 2021. Their live shows are known for being loud and energetic, pulling from their early influences without sounding like a throwback.
