Street Angels

Street Angels formed in Lisbon in 2007, with João Pedro on vocals, Filipe on guitar, and Ricardo on drums. They started playing underground shows, building a following with a raw sound that didn't fit neatly into existing genres. Their early single 'A Minha Vida Não Tem Sentido' connected with listeners who recognized its straightforward title and direct emotional tone.

In 2010 they released their debut album 'Rua das Almas,' which brought them wider attention in Portugal. They followed it with albums like 'Cidade Negra' and 'A Voz da Rua,' working across rock, punk, and hip-hop without settling into one style. Their lyrics often dealt with difficult subjects, which drew criticism from some quarters but kept their core audience engaged.

They never became a polished mainstream act, maintaining the rough edges that characterized their early shows. Songs like 'Street Angels É Hc' reflected this approach, straightforward and unadorned. The band's three original members remained at the center of their work, with João Pedro's vocals providing the most recognizable element of their sound.
