They released albums like A Vida Não Presta in 1985 and A Poesia Vai Morrer in 1986, with songs that often dealt with social and political themes.
One of their best-known tracks is 'A Poesia Vai Morrer,' from the 1986 album of the same name. It's a somber, melodic piece that laments the commodification of art, written by vocalist and guitarist Marcos Mato. Other songs like 'Bandeira Branca' and 'Como você e eu' carried similar weight, speaking to disenfranchised listeners without polish or pretense.
But they kept recording through the late '80s and into the '90s, putting out albums like Periferia and O Assassinato do Rock before slowing down. A live album, SubProduto Vivo, came out in 1999, and they marked their 30th anniversary with a compilation in 2015.
