Subterra formed in Buenos Aires in 2003 with Santiago Russo on vocals, Martin Benedetti on guitar, Francisco Azpiroz on bass, and Diego Garcia on drums. They built a following in the city's underground scene before releasing their album 'Fragmentos' in 2005.
Azpiroz left the band in 2007, replaced by Matias Gentilini. In 2010, Russo was arrested for drug possession, an incident that drew attention but didn't stop the group. They've since put out three more albums: 'Instinto' in 2008, 'Ecos' in 2012, and 'Tempestad' in 2018.
