Suely Bezerra

Suely Bezerra came up in Recife, Brazil, singing gospel music from a young age. She joined a local choir at fifteen, and by the early 1990s she had put out her debut album, 'Anjos de Deus.' That title track became a staple in Brazilian gospel circles. Her husband, André Muniz, has worked as her musical director and guitarist, with other players like bassist Marcelo Costa and drummer Adriano Augusto in the band at various points.

Her catalog includes albums like 'Som da Terra' from 1994, 'Deixa o Amor Fluir' in 1997, and 'Um Abraço no Tempo' in 2002. Songs like 'Força do Alto' and 'Tua Presença' show the range from traditional hymns to something closer to gospel rock. She's recorded with artists like Aline Barros and Fernandinho.
