Suicide Silence formed in Riverside County, California around 2002 with Mitch Lucker on vocals, Chris Garza and Mark Heylmun on guitars, Mike Bodkins on bass, and Josh Goddard on drums. Their 2007 debut album 'The Cleansing' established their raw, aggressive sound built on deathcore and metalcore foundations, with Lucker's guttural vocals becoming a defining element.
In 2008 they released 'You Only Live Once,' a track that became one of their most recognizable songs with its anthemic quality. The band continued developing their approach through songs like 'Unanswered' and 'Disengage,' maintaining a heavy presence in the extreme metal scene.
Lucker died in a motorcycle accident in November 2012. The remaining members continued with new vocalist Eddie Hermida, releasing 'You Can't Stop Me' in 2014. Since then they've put out several more albums and toured regularly, while incorporating different elements into their sound.
