Sunk Loto

Sunk Loto formed in 2015 as a four-piece band from Los Angeles, with Nicolle Maroulis on vocals and guitar, Patrick Hurley on bass, Matt Appleton on drums, and Anthony Saffery on keyboards. They started out playing local venues and festivals while working independently. Their first EP, 'Beginnings,' came out in 2017, followed by 'Bloom' in 2019 and the album 'Moonlit Trails' in 2021.

Their song 'Make You Feel' drew some criticism in 2018 for its subject matter, which the band addressed by saying it reflected personal struggles. After that, they talked more openly about mental health awareness. Songs like '5 Years of Silence' and 'Cloud 9' show their style, which leans toward atmospheric alternative rock with introspective lyrics.

They kept writing and recording through the early 2020s, putting out tracks such as 'Blunt' and 'Burning Bridges.' The band's sound built on layered keyboards and melodic guitar work, with Maroulis's vocals often at the center. They haven't announced any major releases since 'Moonlit Trails,' but their earlier material still gets played by fans of that ethereal, mood-driven rock.
