Sunrise Avenue formed in Helsinki in 2002 around Samu Haber on vocals, Janne Kärkkäinen on guitar, Raul Ruutu on bass, and Riku Rajamaa on drums. Their debut album 'On the Way to Wonderland' came out in 2006, and its single 'Fairytale Gone Bad' became a hit in Finland. They followed it with albums like 'Out of Style' in 2009 and 'Unholy Ground' in 2011.
Songs like 'Hollywood Hills' and 'Kiss'n'Run' found listeners across Europe. In 2014, guitarist Janne Kärkkäinen left the band, and Aki Kapanen joined. They kept recording and touring, putting out 'Heartbreak Century' in 2017.
