Super-Hi formed in London around 2016, with vocalist Polly Scattergood and producer Chris Carter at the center. Carter had previously worked with David Bowie and Iggy Pop. Their debut album 'Mercury' came out in 2017, followed by 'Celestial'.
Their track 'Following The Sun' became their most recognizable song. The group's sound mixed electronic arrangements with elements of jazz and ambient music, which sometimes drew criticism for straying from conventional pop structures.
Alongside Scattergood and Carter, keyboardist Neil Cowley and drummer Jim Wallis contributed to their live performances. The band maintained a fairly low public profile while continuing to release music that blended electronic production with organic instrumentation.
