Superação formed in São Paulo in 1992 with five members: Allan, Danilo, Feijão, Lu, and Junior. Their name means 'overcoming' in Portuguese, which reflected their outlook from the start.
Their music mixed rock and pop with Brazilian rhythms, and they had a song called '14 Indas e Vindas' that became one of their better-known tracks. In 2004, they dealt with a legal dispute with a record label that could have stopped them, but they kept going.
They put out a self-titled debut album and later released '14 Indas e Vindas' and 'Pássaro de Fogo' as well. The band's lineup stayed those five musicians through their active years.
